Departure from the city of Arequipa at 8:00 am and immediately we will see volcanoes and the typical fauna of the region: vicuñas! Then there will be also beautiful typical birds and the Andes Gazer (Mirador de los Andes) to enjoy an impressive panoramic view; also relaxing thermal waters in La Calera. It includes the famous Colca Canyon and its condors with majestic flights; typical villages such as Pinchollo, Achoma and Pampa de Toccra with its beautiful ornithological fauna. We can guarantee that on the return to the city of Arequipa you will have the memories of an unsurpassable vacation in the beautiful Andes of Peru!

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1:
Departure from Arequipa will be at 8:00 am via Yura, passing by the side of the Chachani volcano, the Pampa de Arrieros and the National Reserve of Pampa Cañahuas, where you can appreciate the beautiful and slender vicuña. We will continue through the village of Viscachani and the Pampas de Toccra (Toccra Plains) where we can see an immense variety of birds; then we will go along the Chucura crater to reach Patapampa (4.800 meters) and the Mirador de los Andes (Andes Gazer) where we can observe the volcanoes that surround the city of Arequipa. We will then descend to the village of Chivay for lunch (not included) and then go to the hotel. In the afternoon visit to the thermal waters of La Calera and in the evening we will have dinner (not included). Finally, spending the night at the hotel.

Day 2:
After breakfast, very early, we will leave for the Cruz del Cóndor (41 km from Chivay), where you can observe one of the most spectacular spots of the Colca Canyon, and you will appreciate the long and spectacular condors’ flights. Return to the villages of Pinchollo, Maca, Achoma, Yanque, Mirador de Antahuilque (Antahuilque Gazer) and Choquetico. At noon arrival at Chivay to have lunch (not included) and we will return on the route Patapampa, a plateau located near the 4.800 meters, where we will find the Mirador de los Andes (Andes Gazer); from there you can see the Cordillera de Chila (Chila mountain range) with the snowy Mismi, at a short distance the Chucura, also a snowy, and in the distance the Ubinas volcano and the famous Misti volcano, among others. We continue the route, cutting through the crater of the Chucura, and following the Pampas de Toccra we will find spots with a great variety of Andean birds. After approximately four hours of travel (151 Km), we’ll be arriving back to the city of Arequipa at approximately 4:00 pm.
