Tour Description
Spectacular tour that will take you to the depths of the Peruvian Amazon jungle: rivers, lagoons, animals, flora, native villages, tropical landscapes, forests for which we will alternate hikes and boat tours; but also before all this we will explore the Andean region of Cusco, with archaeological sites, high places of the mountain range and typical vilages.
The tour starts in the city of Cusco visiting archaeological sites like Ninamarca and the typical village of Paucartambo; then head towards the Manu National Park where the first attraction will be the wonderful Cloud Forest. In the Amazon jungle we will travel on a motor boat to marvel at the huge variety of birds, felines, monkeys, tropical vegetation, rivers, lagoons and jungle landscapes, alternating with exciting hikes. In this tour we will visit lake Salvador, famous for its giant otters or river wolves and also the typical village of Boca Manu. It also includes a visit to the native village of Shintuya, where we can appreciate the famous Convent of the Dominicans. After 5 days of unsurpassed adventures we will return to the city of Cusco. Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO - CLOUD FOREST - PILCOPATA
To start our trip to the Manu National Park we will pick you up at your hotel between 5:30 am to 6:00 am; then we will leave the city of Cusco to the village of Paucartambo, but before, we visit the archaeological zone of Ninamarca, where tombs of pre-Inca times are found, with a brief explanation by the professional guide. Once in Paucartambo we will visit the site museum and the colonial church; after an hour ride our tour bus will reach the highest point of the tour, called Acjanaco, located at 4.000 meters asl, which is the entrance point to the Manu National Park. There we will have another general explanation about the whole biosphere reserve of the Manu; the tour continues with the descent throughout the Cloud Forest where we will walk to look for flowers and typical birds. In the afternoon we will arrive to our first and comfortable accommodation in the village of Pilcopata.

DAY 2: PILCOPATA - ATALAYA - BOCA MANU
After having our delicious breakfast we will continue for one more hour on bus, making a stop to visit the animals rescue house and then watch beautiful typical birds until arriving at Atalaya where our motor boat awaits, which will take us downstream on the Madre de Dios river to the village of Boca Manu where we will spend the second night at a basic lodge.

DAY 3: BOCA MANU - OTORONGO
We will have our breakfast early to continue the trip by the river and then arrive at the Limonal control station where there will be the registration for the entrance to the Manu National Park Reserve. The tour continues on the Manu river, which is very interesting because there we will have the opportunity to find birds, felines, aligators, taricayas (turtles of the jungle), etc., so it will be very rewarding to pay attention and go slowly, until we reach our next lodge in Otorongo.

DAY 4: OTORONGO - SALVADOR -OTORONGO
Our breakfast will be early in order to be able to visit lake Salvador, with much expectation to find the beautiful river wolves or giant otters that are animals in danger of extinction; at the lake we will sail for about 1 hour. Lunch will be at the lodge and then we leave to make a hike of about 3 to 4 hours; in the evening we will have a walk in which we can continue knowing the region’s flora and fauna. Finally to the lodge to spend the night.

DAY 5: OTORONGO - BOCA MANU
Another day deep in the jungle and we all are very happy for having enjoyed the vegetation and wildlife, but still the adventure does not end since our boat will take us back to Boca Manu, to have another sighting of more animals and birds. Finally in the afternoon we arrive at the lodge in Boca Manu.

DAY 6: BOCA MANU - PAITITI LODGE
This day after breakfast we will go on our motor boat to a 3-hour trip along the Alto Madre de Dios river, until arriving at the native village of Shintuya where we can visit the Convent of the Dominicans and then go on a 2-hour excursion at the falls, to later enjoy a very relaxing bath in the thermal waters near the village of Shintuya. In the afternoon we will arrive at our lodge Paititi to spend the last night of our tour.

DAY 7: PAITITI - ATALAYA - CUSCO
After enjoying all the wild flora and fauna of the Manu it will be time to take our boat back to Atalaya, where we will be waiting for you in our transportation, which will take us back to the city of Cusco, arriving at around 5:30 to 6:00 pm, which will finish our tour.
