Departure from the city of Cusco by bus until the kilometer 82 of the road, after which the trek begins to Llactapata and then another trek to Huayllabamba. On the second day 16 kilometers of walking ascent, we will cross the mountain Warmiwañusca (4.200 meters). Breathtaking views of the range and snow-capped mountains of the Andes; you can also see the beginning of the Amazon rain forest. Arrival to Inti Punku (Puerta del Sol) which is the entrance to Machu Picchu and then visit for 2 hours throughout the Inca citadel; return, visit the district of Ollantaytambo to finish the trip in the city of Cusco. Detailed Itinerary

    DAY 1: CUSCO - KILOMETER 82 - HUAYLLABAMBA

    Approximately at 6:00 am, we will pick you up at your hotel to go to kilometer 82 by bus. After passing the control, we will begin the trek, along the Urubamba river, until we reach the very important and interesting archaeological site of Llactapata, where we will have lunch. The complete trek will take us approximately 6 hours (a total of 13 kilometers) until we get to the first camp, located in Huayllabamba.

    DAY 2: HUAYLLABAMBA - PACAYMAYU

    This day we will have a very nutritious breakfast to meet the biggest challenge of the trekking: 16 kilometers upwards to go across two very high mountains, one of them the Warmiwañusca, with 4.200 meters; that is the highest point of the walk, and to cross it we must be with our respiratory system in good shape. At the same time we will marvel at the breathtaking panoramic views of two mountains and snowies, and also with the view of the beautiful subtropical valley. The hike also includes a visit to the archaeological sites of Runkurakay and then Sayacmarca. Our second camp will be in Pacaymayu.

    DAY 3: PACAYMAYU - WIÑAYWAYNA

    This day will be calmer; we will hile only 10 kilometers and most of the route turns flat and with several sections of descent. We will see how the geography changes, from dry and mountainous to green and subtropical (jungle border). On the way we’re going to visit the archaeological sites of Phuyupatamarca and Intipata, until finally arriving at Wiñaywayna where we will set up the last camp of the trail.

    DAY 4: WIÑAYWAYNA - MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO

    After breakfast very early, we will leave for Inti Punku (The Sun Gate), which is the entrance to the ancient Inca city of Machu Picchu; from this point there will be an unforgettable experience, for after descending we will tour this magical and wonderful place and have a profesionally guided tour for approximately 2 hours. In the afternoon we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo and then come back to the city of Cusco by bus.
