Wonderful tour through the Peruvian Amazon jungle and in particular the Manu National Park; visiting first some Andean places in Cusco, we will arrive at the Manu biosphere reserve, where we can admire typical animals, abundant flora and the spectacular geography of the region, and also crossing rivers and lagoons in our boats.

The tour starts in the city of Cusco visiting archaeological sites like Ninamarca and the typical village of Paucartambo; then we will head towards the Manu National Park where the first attraction will be the wonderful Cloud Forest. In the Amazon jungle we will travel in a motor boat to marvel at the huge variety of birds, felines, monkeys, tropical vegetation and jungle landscapes, alternating with exciting hike. After 4 days of unsurpassed adventures we will return to the city of Cusco. Detailed Itinerary

  DAY 1: CUSCO - CLOUD FOREST - PILCOPATA

  To start our trip to the Manu National Park we will pick you up at your hotel between 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.; then we will leave the city of Cusco to the village of Paucartambo, but before we will visit the archaeological zone of Ninamarca, composed by tombs of the pre Inca period, where we will have a brief explanation from the professional guide.

  Once arrived in Paucartambo, we will visit the museum of the site and the church of the Spanish colonial time; after an hour or more of travel in our tourist bus we will reach the highest point, Acjanaco, located at 4.000 meters above sea level, which is the entrance point to the Manu National Park. There we’re going to have another general explanation about the entire biosphere reserve of the Manu. Next we continue descending through the Cloud Forest where we will hike to look for flowers and birds like the cock of the rocks (gallito de las rocas) among others. In the afternoon arrival to our first and very cozy accommodation in the village of Pilcopata.

  DAY 2: PILCOPATA - ATALAYA - PAITITI

  The village of Pilcopata is located 780 meters above sea level; breakfast will be served at 7:00 am and then our journey continues for another hour by car, making stops where we will have the opportunity to visit the animal rescue house; then off to the town of Atalaya where we will aboard a motor boat taking us downstream to enter the tropical forest of Paititi and reach the second lodge also called Paititi, place where we will sleep 2 nights. In this accommodation it will be lunch time and in the afternoon we will make a hike of approximately 3 hours, with the aim of finding some types of monkeys, medicinal plants etc.

  In the evening after dinner there will be a 1-hour walk.

  DAY 3: PAITITI - COLLPA DE LOROS - MARAVILLA PATH- COCHA MACHUWASI

  Very early in the morning we will head on our boat to the parrot spot for the sighting of these birds; afterwards we will have breakfast time with a few minutes of relaxation, since later we will make a hike of another 2 or 3 hours to continue looking for animals, plants, insects etc. For lunch we return to our Paititi accommodation and in the afternoon we will enjoy a wooden raft trip on lake Machuwasi; it will be an interesting experience due to the geography and exotic birds that the lake presents. Then another hike for about 1 hour and then return to the lodge.

  DAY 4: PAITITI - ATALAYA- CUSCO

  After having enjoyed all the wonderful flora and fauna of the Manu it will be time to take our boat back to Atalaya, where we will be waiting for you with our touristic car that will take us back to the city of Cusco, for arrival at around 5:30 to 6:00 pm, which will conclude our wonderful tour.
