    DAY 1: CUSCO - URUBAMBA - PUMAHUANCA - CUYOC

Staff from our company will pick you up at your hotel at 5:30 am and then go to Urubamba, where we will have breakfast in a typical restaurant. We will continue the trip for another 25 minutes by bus to the entrance of the Pumahuanca Valley, famous for the cultivation of white corn and chicha (traditional beer of the Incas based on corn). From here begins a trek through this beautiful valley; in the forest the queuñas (typical Andean bush) predominate on the landscape, in a meandering and soft ascent with breathtaking views of the valley and the surrounding mountains. We will hike approximately 3 to 4 hours to the archaeological site of Incakancha (4.010 meters asl); after exploring this complex we will have our first typical Andean lunch. You will then have time to relax or take a short nap until we continue our trek through the Queuñas Forest to the village of Paccha, where a spectacular mountain landscape awaits, with many llamas, alpacas and sheep. Next an exciting 2-hour hike and arrival in Cuyoc to set up our camp.

DAY 2: CUYOC - PUMAHUANCA PASS - CUNCANI

Let's start the day at 6:00 am with a cup of traditional coca leaf tea and delicious pancakes. At 7:30 am we will begin our hike with a view of the snowy peaks of Chicón, San Juan and Veronica. Surrounded by forests, a challenging five-hour adventure awaits us, climbing a path with steep stone steps; some parts have a narrow path that bends up to the Pumahuanca Pass, located at an altitude of 4.780 meters asl. Once we get there, we will also honor the mountain gods with the local custom of offering coca leaves. From there we can enjoy the beautiful view of Moray, Maras and the salt mines. Now we’re ready for the descent of approximately 1 hour on a stone path with a beautiful landscape on both sides of the mountain, and then arrival near the stunning lakes, where we will have our lunch and enjoy a brief rest. After that, hiking for about 2 more hours, mostly downhill; on the way we will surely see the local farmers who wear the traditional and colorful clothing that is typical of the Lares valley. Cuncani is the main village of the area; there we will camp at an altitude of 3.900 meters asl and to enjoy our delicious dinner.
