This tour has a great reputation because it combines beautiful natural landscapes, Inca architecture in Tipón, pre - Inca architecture of the previous Wari empire in Pikillaqta, the visit to Andahuaylillas with its beautiful chapel, known as the "Sistine Chapel of America", not forgetting the delicious gastronomy which can be enjoyed in Saylla and Huasao.   Day 1:

  You will be picked up at 9:00 am to have a guided tour of the South Valley, where you can find the following places:

  • TIPÓN: We will observe the most perfect hydraulic engineering ever seen before the Incas, perfectly aligned terraces of cultivation, totaling 12, which embellish the geographical environment, whose walls were built with finely carved stones; this irrigation system is still used by the local population.
  • PIKILLAQTA: It presents features of a great urban center corresponding to the time of development of the Wari empire (the empire that preceded the Incas), with more than a thousand constructions between squares, colcas (food deposits), houses, temples and long streets with buildings that had up to 4 floors high.
  • CHURCH ANDAHUAYLILLAS: Typical Andean village of the time of the Spanish domination (1535 AD - 1821 AD), of singular origin and architecture. In Andahuaylillas we can highlight its Catholic temple of said colonial time with a beautiful decoration and mural painting from centuries XVII and XVIII; it is known as the Sistine Chapel of Cusco. Return to Saylla, a typical Cusco village where you can enjoy the delicious traditional pork chicharrones (optional). We will be returning to the city of Cusco at approximately 3:30 pm.
