Detailed Itinerary

    DAY 1: CUSCO - HUCHUY QOSQO - QUENQO - SIWA - LAMAY - OLLANTAYTAMBO - AGUAS CALIENTES

    Staff from our company will pick you up at 5:00 am at your hotel to travel for about 1 hour and 20 minutes; on the way you can enjoy beautiful views of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. After our journey we will begin our trek through the village of Siwa, located at 3.750 meters asl, taking an average of 2 hours to reach the highest point, called the Paso del Inca (Inca Pass), located at 4.050 meters asl. Along our way we will have again excellent views of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, snowies and also some beautiful hawks; after our tour and walking about 20 minutes downhill we will arrive at the most incredible canyon of all Inca roads, called Puma Punku (Cougar Gate), which is a rocky canyon that has an Inca bridge with its majestic design. After 1 hour and 30 minutes arrival to Huchuy Qosqo (Little Cusco), which was the palace of the Inca Wiracocha, who is said to have been the predecessor of the creator of the Inca empire, Pachacutec. At this point the professional guide will provide full information about the site. After the explanation you will have a few minutes to take pictures and after this brief intermission a delicious picnic-lunch. At the time indicated by our guide we will begin to hike the last section, which is downhill, for 1 hour and 30 minutes, to reach the village of Lamay in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where our bus will be waiting for us to head towards Ollantaytambo and take the train to Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu. The train journey takes 2 hours, and finally we arrive in Aguas Calientes, to spend the night at a cozy hotel.

    DAY 2: MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO

    In the morning after a delicious breakfast, we will take the first bus in Aguas Calientes off to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. There we will have a 2-hour visit with our professional guide and then there will be free time to explore the place and take pictures. At the time indicated by our professional guide we will board the bus back to Aguas Calientes and from there the train to Ollantaytambo. In that village a member of our company will be waiting to bring you back to the hotel in Cusco city.
