Choquequirao – Machu Picchu – 8 Days / 7 Nights.

This walk shows us a beautiful view of the very important Inca archaeological sites, it is one of the last unexplored routes of almost constant area for the scenery, hot springs and direct contact with people in the population.

Day 1: Cusco Playa Rosalina.

We started our hike at about 5:00 am, away from the city of Cusco and headed to the town of Cachora, in this place we met our friends to join us on our trip and who will lead the pack animals like donkey and the horse, thus began our trek to the flat area and then we go uphill through the high pass to reach Capuliyoc, where we will have the best views and we can see the Grand Canyon of Apurimac, from this point we travel Chiquiska , where we will have lunch, after this break we head towards the beach towards Rosalina to 1.550m / 5,115 feet, it is in this place where we spend the night and enjoy the place.

Day 2: Playa Rosalina Choquequirao.

In the morning we will have a good and delicious nutritious breakfast to get started our hike uphill through a long and narrow trail, passing through Santa Rosa, our early morning starts with a delicious breakfast and then start walking uphill right through a narrow path and long hours later we finally got to Choquequirao (3,103 m / 10,178 ft) around 4:00 am. Enjoy free time to discover all the places and constructions Incas.

Day 3: Choquequirao Maizal

Very early in the morning we started walking, ascending up to (3,300 m / 10,890 ft). In the course of our journey we will pass through archaeological sites Pinchi Unuyoc (2,750 m / 9,075 ft) in places we can observe birds, orchids and coca plantations. Then we can go down to the White River (1900 m / 6270 ft), where we then arrival at cornfield (3,000 m / 9,900 ft) where we will stay overnight.

Day 4: Maizal Yanama.

From here we head towards the impressive Inca Trail and can see the Inca mines is on this day where we can go uphill and after reaching the highest point of our tour at 4,150 m / 13,695 ft, we can go in the direction toward our camp the (3,800 m / 12,540 ft).

Day 5: Yanama Colpapampa

After our early breakfast, we walk to the highest pass of our tour to 4,670 m / 15,410 ft. From here we have the best views, surrounded by snow-capped mountains Sacsarayoj Padreyoj. After our short break we descend to our camp Colpa Pampa (3,630 m / 11,979 ft) .where overnight.

Day 6: Colpapampa – La Playa Santa Teresa.

After a delicious breakfast, we will start our day hike to get to the beach where we will have lunch, then we walk fairly easy downhill, from this place you will be able to experience the jungle, our Andean highlands, is this place where we can see plantations of coca, coffee trees, fruit plantations, birds, orchids and begonias. Here let us stop and walk to board a bus to take us to the village of Santa Teresa, where we will have dinner and spend the night, we can also visit the natural hot springs.

Day 7: Santa Teresa – Aguas Calientes

After breakfast and a journey of about an hour, we walked an average of two hours to the Urubamba river, hydroelectric station to have our lunch to have the energy needed to continue our adventure, averaging three hours separate us from reaching in the end, to Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu, Aguas Calientes already settled into our hotel and then we will have our last dinner and then have a short break, the next day awaits our visit to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.

NOTE: If you do not want to walk after eating something you can take the train to Aguas Calientes hydro, but that train passes x the afternoon, so it may take longer.

Day 8: Machu Picchu – Cusco.

After our breakfast we will take one of the buses heading to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. Or if you want you can have the option to do the walking tour (approximately 2 hours) if you would like this option to tell your guide, guided in the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu is two hours where your guide will give you the explanation of the case of the most important places of Machu Picchu, then you will have time on their own to explore the place and take photos. At the time indicated by our tour guide to take the bus down to Aguas Calientes and take the train heading towards Ollantaytambo, where a representative of our company will be waiting to return to Cusco.
